Vancouver Art Gallery’s FUSE is a wildly popular event where art, music and performance collide. On August 15, 2015 FUSE will be the site of DISRUPTION, guest curated by Kate Armstrong and Malcolm Levy in connection with the 21st International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2015), one of the world’s most prestigious global festivals presenting work at the intersection of art and technology.

DISRUPTION  will be an unforgettable evening that brings together 50 top local and international artists to investigate the contemporary moment through the lens of political, social, environmental, technological and aesthetic disruption. Artists include pioneering hactivist art collective Electronic Disturbance Theatre, Amelia Marzec, Marisa Olson, Antoine Schmitt, Paolo Cirio, and Reva Stone, with a special opening performance by Geronimo Inutiq.  DISRUPTION features a large-scale electronic installation by Patrick Harrop, a robot made of mud by Paula Gaetano Adi and Gustavo Crembil, and an exhibition on Glitch featuring work by gliTchArt pioneers jonCates and Phillip Galanter alongside new works from A. Bill Miller, Julianne Aguilar, and Daniel Temkin.  Also happening at DISRUPTION is an exciting program of music and live visuals curated by the New Forms Festival and works by WALLPAPERS (Nicolas Sassoon, Sara Ludy, and Sylvain Sailly) in Beyond the Trees, Wallpapers in Dialogue with Emily Carr, curated by Diana Freundl and Caitlin Jones.

This huge, city-wide party in the centre of Vancouver will begin with a private opening at 7pm for ISEA attendees and be open to the public starting at 8.

Artworks will be on view through the 18th for FUSE attendees.
