Here at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, we are leaning into two cross-college strategic initiatives that connect very much to concerns I've experienced at A2RU - one in the arts of African-American and Afro-diasporic cultures and places, and the other in Arts Impact Assessment. I come from a background in public art and interaction design; my own scholarship of late is mostly on the role of photography and film in nuclear testing as a colonial project.
