As a practicing artist and scholar, Fiedrich holds a graduate degree in visual arts funded by the CIHR (2011) on the subject of bodily capacities and adaptability. A current MA candidate at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, Fiedrich is the recipient of a SSHRC Graduate Scholarship for her ongoing research about the living body, its relationship to socio-cultural systems and structures, the mediation of life via technological means and advancements in biomedical research. She has exhibited in Canada and the USA and received awards for excellence in academics, printmaking and photography. Alongside her art practice, Fiedrich is an independent arts administrator, sessional faculty at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and produces work as part of Vancouver-based artist collaborative Lucida Lab.
